Or is it just vapourware? Their announcement was obviously timed to deflect attention from Microsoft announcing the pre-launch of Windows 7 and the new charging structure for Office. Compared with Google's usual launch strategy of surprising the marketplace with a finished product, this does seem to be out of character.
Or are Google trying to ensure the success of cloud computing to reduce the dominance of MS in the traditional computing market?
One thing is for sure, when it does arrive there will be a massive opportunity for the IT security industry...
